Ode to bubbles

Like most kids, my boys have always loved bubbles. They’ve had many a bath time with a bubble maker we bought when they were little (a huge success). They’ve brought straws to bath time so they could use them to blow the bubbles coming out of the bubble machine (also a ton of fun). They’ve chased bubbles, caught bubbles and probably swallowed bubbles. They’ve made drippy, dodgy, pipe-cleaner bubble wands and artful jumbo-bubble makers out of bamboo sticks and yarn. Entire bottles of washing up liquid have vanished into an afternoon’s bubbling. Kids and bubbles just go together, and what a treat it is to watch them enjoying one of life’s simplest and most rewarding pleasures.
