Summer magic

Summertime. When I hear that word I immediately think of my childhood summers; the smell of the ocean, the glare of bright sunshine, and the sticky tightness of dried ice cream around my mouth. Not to mention that rousing summer feeling of freedom and possibility that still makes my heart beat a little faster as I turn the calendar to July. There were - and still are - so many adventures to be had! Summer is for enjoying the thrill of the hunt at a coastal crabbing pool, an afternoon of sandy toes and salty hair at the beach, or an action-packed day being pirates on the back yard climbing frame. There always seems to be plenty of time to catch up on water games and twirling with much-missed loved ones. Or for just floating along in a water doughnut in the cool ocean while the sun warms your face. There’s nothing quite like the magic of those stretched-out days, when we all get to fall out of our routines and embrace our adventures. Those days are definitely worth waiting for all year.
